Ah, Chestnut.....for comforting warmth and rustic appeal, there really is nothing better. American Chestnut went extinct in the early 1900's, victim to a blight that effectively wiped it out in the course of a few years. While the Shenandoah Valley will never know another spring abloom with the abundant white flowers of the thousands of chestnut trees that used to grow here, it is comforting to know that the trees still live on, harbored in the homes of people who appreciate their beautiful wood.
Our hand made bed frame is crafted from solid reclaimed wormy chestnut for an authentic country look you simply cannot get any other way!
This bed stands out for its rugged strength, antique charm and inviting appeal. It comes with headboard, footboard , side rails and drop-in planks if needed. A solid mattress platform is also available upon request for a small charge.
Pictured is a king size frame, finished with an all natural wood oil. Price is reduced for smaller sizes. These are made by hand one at a time and can be adjusted to your custom size, wood type or finish!
The platform is approximately 12" off the floor, but custom heights are available by
request -- just ask!
